So much to say

Looking up from the hole I have dug for myself by not writing t is hard to imagine writing something that can revive it or t least get a pulse. There are so many details and ideas that are stewing in my mind. The following is likely to be a random spoonful of whatever ideas choose to surface. I wish todo justice to something somewhere somehow.

Our trip is beyond words. This is wonderful for those that are on our trip, but presents problems for the feeble fingers frantically forming phrases on phones. Our group has grown in number. We acquired two solo travelers, one from DC and one from London. The former began his journey from home, the matter in Bar Harbor, Maine. They have spent all the miles solo until we all met by chance in Farmington Missouri where we learned dreams do come true.

We have just crossed the Ozarks which we have been told is the hardest part of the route. Today we are spending our last day in Missouri and riding for Pittsburg Kansas. Kansas is by far the most talked about state with all of the cyclists we have met. The topography is slowly changing and we are starting to feel like we are far away from home.

The trip has been a constant evolution. Our bodies are getting stronger, our minds are seeing longer days as normal, and the trip has become a living breathing organism. It seems we can no longer remember a time where we worked hard saving up and dreaming about making the trip a reality. Now that we are past the infancy stages the trip feels as though it can last forever. In the beginning we experienced a metamorphosis in which we pulled our roots out of the ground, and waved goodbye to friends and family. For the first few days and weeks even, everyone was fresh in our minds, home was not so far away, and we felt as though we could look back in the distance and still see everyones smiling faces. The weeks that follow included all sorts of obstacles and trials. They all seemed amplified since we are on our own, away from luxuries and things that make our lives wonderful at home. We surely miss everyone dearly but feel as though we would prefer you were here with us, rather than us returning home. The trip is so incredibly rich with experiences and moments that I can not put words to. Long live long trips, and long live long rides.

Here are links to our friends blogs, and one of my favorite quotes.
